Primary Responsibilities:
Provide financial and analytical support for Research & Development departments (R&D) and outsourcing activities of Project Teams.
Activities:
Business Partnering & Analytical Support
* Assist in building relationships with Project Teams and R&D
departments to understand their operational and strategic project
plans, as well as associated issues and challenges
* Provide analytical support related to contract negotiations for
outsourced R&D activities (e.g., payment terms and schedules)
* Provide analytical support to evaluate financial implications of
alternative business decisions
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
* Provide financial and operational support for budgeting,
forecasting, and strategic planning activities of Project Teams
and departments. Support active engagement of departments in
these activities, within appropriate timelines.
* Participate in the month-end close process and reporting. These
activities encompass ensuring the proper accounting and accrual
for significant contracts, as well as performing variance analyses
and calculation of financial metrics.
* Contribute to processes improvement initiatives within FP&A
Management and Project Reporting
* Provide analytical support for management and project reporting,
working in collaboration with other Finance and Accounting team
members
Perform special projects as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
* At least 2 years of previous financial analyst experience desired,
ideally in life sciences

* Must possess strong accounting and financial skills
* Must have a proven track record of collaborating with other
functional areas and working effectively in a team environment
* Must be able to prioritize competing requests and manage tight
deadlines within a dynamic and fast-paced environment
* Must have excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication
skills
* Must be systems savvy, with proficiency in Excel
* Previous experience supporting research, development or technical
