Associate Director, Finance
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance and Analysis, this position will support the Strategic Planning group within Product Operations (PROP) Finance. The successful candidate will evaluate, analyze and report on various opportunities to improve financial and operations performance. The Analyst will apply a solid operational background with both strategic and innovative perspectives, seeking ways to utilize existing data to develop actionable recommendations. A familiarity with key financial metrics such as operational cash flow, inventory management, plant throughput, operating leverage and scale economies is required.
The successful candidate should have experience in operations, excellent interpersonal skills, have significant financial modeling experience, well-developed strategic acumen, ability to multi- task with numerous customer groups, and be able to discuss, explain and present complex modeling options.
This is a high profile role that will interface with senior management and require extensive interaction with other finance and planning groups across the organization.
Significant job responsibilities include:
- Apply an organized approach to gathering data, interpreting it in a meaningful way, and developing insightful, action oriented recommendations. Must be open-minded to different approaches of analyses, and have an attitude of continuous improvement and be proactive in identifying analytic opportunities.
- Manage the monthly financial reporting process
- Provide financial support for make v. buy analyses, capacity requirements and production optimization
- Utilize knowledge of financial theory and experience to develop ongoing reports which reflect impact of operational issues on various financial statements
- Apply various modeling tools to analyses, seeking new ways to show data
- Collaborate with counterparts and management throughout the business on team and individual projects
REQUIREMENTS
- MBA required
- At least 7 years experience with financial analysis and modeling in a manufacturing and operations environment of increasing scope and responsibility
- Experience with a top-tier management consulting firm preferred
- Excellent oral communication/presentation skills to senior management and advanced skills with PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP, Cognos and Essbase a plus
- Advanced financial modeling skills with various software packages (Excel, relational databases)
- Leadership qualities with strong influencing skills
- Proactive solutions-oriented capability and ability to multi-task and see the "big picture"
- Ability to apply financial and operational theories in real world situations and provide value added recommendations to senior management
- Proven customer service orientation, collaborative attitude, take ownership in work-product and flexibility to compromise |
